Great features and pics
I am having a bit of trouble getting the focus I want in the macro mode, but am getting better at it. The pictures are great, clear, crisp and I love all the features such as single color, sepia, etc. Nice compact size and easy to see screen.

It has great zoom and great picture quality. Sometimes the extended zoom and focus makes it a little slow but the pictures you do capture are great....

Canon SX210IS Gold body color VS Purple color
I previously owned a Canon SD800IS and was happy with it. I ordered the SX210IS because of the HD. The primary features are the same as the SD800 but better. The only "downside" of this camera that I have found so far are the following: They all have white print on the buttons. The white print on the gold body does not show up well. The camera body comes in gold, black and purple. In fact, in bright light its even worse because the metal is a little shiny. The contrast between the white print against the gold colored body is difficult to see. I showed the camera to five of my friends and they agreed with me. The flash is located in an awkward place. The area where the flash pops up is where I naturally hold the camera so the flash usually doesn't pop up because my finger is holding it down. With my old camera this was not a problem because the flash was built in; not pop up. With this new camera I have to remember to hold my left hand in the shape of an "L" and let the camera rest in the corner of my "L". My right hand can hold the camera as normal without obstructing anything. With the red eye "on", there is a significant delay. If using red eye feature, be sure it's when your subjects are posing and not moving as they will surely have a long wait for you to take their photo. Regarding the video feature: The HD quality is noticible compared to my old camera. Sound is better too. Be aware that in order to view HD video on a computer, the computer needs a minimum requirement for viewing capability, so read the online user guide first to see if your computer matches. Regarding the delivery of the product: It arrived on time. I had ordered a HD SD card on the same day. The SD card was cancelled by the seller due to lack of inventory, so I had to go online and order a different one. As soon as the SD card arrived, I popped it in the camera and finally "played" with it. At that time I realized the white print on the gold camera was terrible. But by this time, with the delay of the SD card, I was outside of the window of time that the seller accepts returns. I called Amazon and also called the seller and explained what happened. I have since sent the gold color back and reordered the purple one. I still have the problem with the location of the flash, and red eye, but at least I can see the camera settings!! The return of the gold color camera was easy and went without any problems. I'm currently using the purple one. I have ordered a wide variety of products from Amazon and if I had a problem with one of them, it was always resolved to my liking.

Good quality features for a compact
I am a Real Estate Appraiser and purchased this camera for work. For the past three months it is used almost daily and I typically take between 100-200 photos per week. The camera is heavier than others although the quality of the photos, display, and flash were worth the price. Most of the interior photos are crisp and the wide angle setting works well in large unlit rooms. These cameras eat batteries quickly so I recommend an extra battery and car charger. Many of these are available on Amazon.com. This is my first Canon camera and was a good choice. Another camera considered was the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7 although I had concerns of it's lot light issues. Remember it is not an SLR but for a pocket camera in my business I love it.

Very good budget camara
I bought this camara in a honey-I-forgot-the-camara situation just before boarding an eirplane.

I am fascinating with it. nice size, even slim enough to fit in a shirt pocket. the panoramic feature is really good.

batteries last me two entire days with normal (30) photo shooting and 5 minutes videos.

Only one thing: the mode dial easy moves to video setting, when putting it in your pocket or in a case.

Excellent Photo Quality... but no HD Video
Bought this camera to replace a Kodak v1233 it was a great camera for a great price and this has been too. The only thing we liked about our v1233 was that it took great HD video... this doesn't do HD but on the bright side the lower quality video doesn't take up as much space (not that that is really a bright side). We always give out custom family calendars to our parents as Christmas gifts and the low quality images from cameras of our brothers and sisters always seem to "ruin" our good calendar picture sets. This camera has never failed us and works seamlessly with both our Mac and PC. Great camera.

Ok basic camera
Expecting a basic camera and that is what this camera is; very basic. Picture quality is just average and view screen is just average, and below average in sun light. I bought it for work thinking of a low price camera and.....you get what you pay for.

Great everyday camera
My Coolpix L22 goes everywhere with me. It's small enough to fit in a pocket,and with 12Mp I can crop and enlarge more of the photos.
I love the size and for some reason more of my photos are really sharp.

Great value
This camera is easy to use with a decent amount of features. It has HD picture quality and was a great value for the price.

Got what I wanted at this price
If you are on a very very tight budget (air ticket took the most part of my budget already) and don't want to pay anything over 0, this is the camera for this price. Below is my feedback after taking a couple of hundred pictures in a trip to Hong Kong.

Pros:
-low price
-pictures are of good quality (12mega) and over 95% of them were in good focus and clear. I printed about 150 pics (including Disney World in HK) on photo paper thru PhotoMax in Hong Kong for Mom in law and they came out very well. They look good on computer too.
-took about 10 video clips. They all worked well on computer when replaying (the camera does not have HD format support yet in its video).
-use AA batteries (I know some people do not like this as it makes the camera a little bigger - anyway just a little bigger only and OK with me) but I like it because if the battery runs out by accident and I have no replacement handy, I can purchase anywhere easily. BTW, I had 4 rechargeable AA batteries and this camera took 2 at a time and so most of the time I did not run into the need to buy new battery. You can take a lot of pics with just 2 batteries. The only one time we had to purchase new batteries was because we forgot to bring the other 2 batteries out and the ones in use ran out. This is much better than when a camera is using other type of batteries and you forgot to bring them out and you won't be able to use your camera in that case at all.
-flash is OK

Cons:
-the mode that has face detection just does not work. If you use that mode, the pictures you got would be extremely extremely disappointing and that's why some other reviews here said that the pictures from this camera were very poor and this was because they probably have selected that mode. If you stay away from using that and select other mode, the picture would come out just fine. With that said, you are not really getting all the features that you pay for here. Even this camera is cheap, the price per each working function may be more expensive than the others. But too bad, I cannot spend more than 0 for a camera in my budget and so I have to stick with it (still better than not being able to get a camera at all).
-the sports mode is only 1/250th second and its much slower than most of other camera (1/1000th second).

So if you cannot afford more than 0 like me and you only care about taking reasonable good pictures easily (no sports - sports mode is slow), this may be the right camera for you. If you can spend more than 0, you should check out something else and you can get better sports mode and higher zoom power, etc.

I needed a new camera that was a s easy to use as my old Canon. I read up on this camera and felt it was a user friendly, good quality camera. I'm finding that its very slow to make it available to snap another picture and a lot of time, the pictures have come out very fuzzy. I would not recommend this camera. Even though I can't return it, I think I will buy another camera. Always remember, you get what you pay for. If its cheap in price, its probably cheap in quality

If you like plastic....
I bought this camera because I wanted a cheap point-and-shoot. And that's what I got..a cheap camera. I thought I was going to break off the top of the battery compartment just to put the batteries in. I guess I should have added this first...it didn't work right out of the box. Tried multiple batteries with no success. Sent it back to Amazon the next day. I did get excellent service from Amazon and a fast, full refund.

Go for a better brand and save yourself frustration
One Word - Don't

CD80, CD82 and CD182 -- all related models of the same camera are not worth even the inexpensive price.

I bought this as an entry-level camera for my daughter - only to discover photos have significant "noise" (little black spots and under-exposed backgrounds), it drains batteries faster than a cigarette burns (zoom lens is a huge drain), and they suffer from an electronic power switch that randomly refuses to turn the camera on.

Imagine needing to take a photo and having to remove/reinstall the batteries just to turn the camera back on.

Kodak's customer support failed to repair the problem and insists customers use expensive NiMH or Lithium batteries to resolve the power switch problem -- even though the directions say alkaline batteries are fine!

Do yourself a favor and get Canon, Nikon or other higher quality brand to save yourself aggravation.

OK Camera
I bought this as a second camera for those times when I don't need a digital SLR. It takes OK pictures, but I was surprised that it took batteries and did not offer rechargeable batteries. I have a small issue with it and Lightroom as it will not import the pictures into it.

The menus are also not intuitive, it takes a few minutes to figure out what you need to do with the menu to get the camera to take pictures the way you want them.

My Old Canon was Better
Easy to use. Software is fine. The cropping feature is annoying. You have to place your cursor exactly in the corner of the window before cropping to size, otherwise the entire window moves in a direction you don't want it to go. Downloading the pictures is easy, as is taking the pictures with or without the flash.

But we buy cameras for the end results, not ease of use, and this Kodak fails.

My old Canon Powershot A520 with only 4-pixels took better and clearer photos than this 12-pixel Kodak. I don't understand why that is. I expected much sharper images with a higher pixel camera.

If you're on a budget and want a cheap camera that takes okay pictures, this Kodak is for you. Make sure you keep a stash of extra batteries in your pocket. This camera eats them for lunch.

I would not purchase another one. I'll return to the Canon, probably before this Kodak expires.

Good pocket camera
Nice resolution, easy to use, but in sunlight, trying to snap a moving target it's impossibly bad. Without a rangefinder it's very hard to zero in on your object (like butterflies), but it's handy and lightweight. I found that I only got about forty shots out of a set of Duracells so if you're going to be using it very much you'll need re-chargeables.

Case leaked first time used underwater...
...and beware of return policies. We bought thru an Amazon supplier, Adorama. Their return policy completely excludes underwater cameras. They directed us to contact Fujifilm directly. Have so far been trying for a week: phone system goes into an endless voicemail loop with apparently non-existent operator; no response thus far to email. Will update if/when ever get response, but so far very unhappy with service.

Exellent choice for a waterproof camera
I have only had this camera for about a week, but have already taken it swimming in the lake with me multiple times. It is a nice full-featured camera that does a good job with standard picture-taking. It really excels underwater - spectacular pictures and video. With this camera you will not feel as though you settled for second-rate equipments just because you needed it to be waterproof.
I have taken pictures above and below water during my swims. I have also caught some nice video of underwater scenery and fish. I swim with the camera in my pocket underwater for up to an hour, and it has no problems. Everyone who sees the underwater images and video is impressed, and asks about my camera. I highly recommend this camera if you plan to take pictures and capture video in, around and under the water.
The only downsides for me are:
1. No real image stabilization
2. No lens cap
3. No optical viewfinder (now true with most digital cameras)

For the price, performance and features you should not hesitate to purchase the Z33WP. I love mine.

Bad refurbished
The camera has good quality pictures, but the flash doesn't shoot and the battery charger never charges the battery, was over.

Great
I bought this camera for our Hawaiian trip thinking I was going to get pretty good pics. I had no idea that they were going to come out great! I read the reviews and the price was right. So I took a chance. Underwater pics and film were clear and bright. Lighting is important with any underwater camera. So make sure its not clouding for the best results. The controls were easy to use and this little camera also took great lively pictures on dry land.

This is the second canon that I have owened the first was the SD 1200 and was lost on vacation so I bought the SD 1300 and am very happy with it.

Very Pleased
This camera is awsome, it takes such good pics Above and Below water. expecually with the water mode on, even at 120 feet the pics were great, but the video was amazing under water, very clear and great sound.. I don't think you can get any better with a compact camera

Feels solid and takes great pics!
Bought the SD1300 specifically to have a small camera while traveling across the country following Route 66! (I have a Canon S5IS which I took to Germany and Italy, but found it inconvenient to carry daily.) THIS camera takes exceptional pictures and video, is convenient to carry and the battery lasts for DAYS before needing a charge. On a week trip to Maryland I did find the VIDEOS I shot at full zoom were blurry, but I didn't notice it until I downloaded them to view on my computer. Only for that reason did I not give it 5 stars. Full zoom PICTURES are fine. I love using the SD Card to directly download pictures (but then, that's a positive point of my computer). I did purchase an extra 4gb SD card but have not had to use it yet. (I have over 600 pictures and probably 40 minutes of video on the first one.) I do suggest purchasing a camera case of some sort for protection. I found one at Target which is just a padded cloth type, and it prevents the camera from getting scratched up in my purse but doesn't take up much room. I do put the strap over my wrist while shooting because it is so small you can drop it easily. Buying from Amazon.com allows me to purchase a really GREAT product saving the tax I would pay at a retailer, and it ships for FREE. It's well worth the price, and I see it's even dropped from the July 2 price. Pick your favorite color and buy it if you're looking for a small, convenient camera that takes great pics at a reasonable price.

Nice camera!!
I have owned several Canon ELF cameras. I like the power button layout and the menus are similar to my other Canon cameras. I don't like carrying around a large camera and am willing to sacrifice some features and functionality for convenience. However, I don't feel like I'm giving up much as this camera takes great pictures!

Great but beauty flaws
I took this camera to my over-America road trip. The camera saw pretty hard conditions - 99 degrees of heat, dropping into sand, 3000 pictures over 3 weeks. It just went on-off all the time, I put a weight of a full year of use onto it over 3 weeks.

Works great. Amazing photos, it is easy to use, automatic regimes like macro work brilliant. Even through car windows on a speed of 70mph, it takes pictures like standing on a place. You could never tell they are made from a car ride. Brilliant photos, great camera.

1 minus. Beauty flaws come up quickly. It is easy to scratch it and after 3 weeks of use, it looked rubbish. Like a 3 year old camera. I have never seen this before. So if you are interested in aesthetics, buy some other camera. If you want to have awesome, truly brilliant pictures from a small and compact camera, buy this one. Photos wise it is the best you could buy, if you like to hang out and show your fancy equipment in a big crowd, this camera is not looking fancy over longer period of time.

THE CAMERA WAS A GOOD PRICE AND THE PICTURES WERE SO SO - THE ZOOM WAS GREAT. HOWEVER, THE PICTURES WERE NOT VERY CLEAR OR SHARP COMPARED TO MY OLD CANON 4201. ALSO, YOU NEED A FORK OR SHARP POINTY OBJECT TO REMOVE THE CARD FROM THE CAMERA - NOT GOOD. I RETURNED THE CAMERA AND I WILL STICK WITH CANON.

Moderately Satisfied
There are a lot of good things about this litte camera.
1. It's little. I purchased this for a hiking trip to California, so I needed it to be easily stowable. It is.
2. Ease of use. My previous camera was a Cannon, and I did not find there was any learning curve in adapting to a different menu set-up. I love the quick menu- it is incredibly convenient.
3. Ability to switch between file sizes easily. All on the quick menu.
4. Very good picture quality. I've been spoiled by Cannon, but Panasonic did OK.

My biggest complaint: the zoom. I wanted to upgrade my zoom from the 4x I had on my Cannon to something with a little more...Ooomph. I figured the 8x would be great. Except for the fact that this camera can't seem to be able to focus between 3x and 6x. If I'm set to one extreme or the other (either zoomed all the way back or all the way in), it's fine. But as I zoom in the camera can't seem to find a spot to focus on. I've tried pushing down the button slightly, getting the zoom box and trying to show the camera where I wanted it to focus on, but that doesn't work either. I've tried other cameras with high zoom and have not run into the same issue. As the camera zooms, the focus stays true. The FH20 starts off focused, gets blurry, and then focuses again. Pretty disappointing performance when you're trying to shoot landscapes, and everything seems to be in that middle range.

All in all this camera was an OK purchase. I like the burst shooting and the video recording, although I think it would have been better to add the video feature to the quick menu.

I love it!
I am a pro in photography for more than a decade. Although I mainly shoot with Slr, I do own few compact cameras handy when I am not too serious about getting that perfect shoot. Of all small cameras that I own, this one is the only one that didn't disappoint me. Most other digtal cameras have few problem such as high iso noise, low image quaility, loud zooming sound, too big, start up too slow and etc.

This one is perfect: Start up is fast & quite; image quailty is great (see photos I have uploaded); HD video quailty is great; control is simple; lens is best (it is sharp and does 8x optical zoom); outside looks great, fashionable, stylistic, price is cheap. In short, this fh20 is a great camera.

This camera can deliver dslr like image quailty, but only if you know what you are doing. As a pro in photograph, I saw a lot of photo getting bad image using high-end dslr, so photography is a skill and art, and a camera is merely a tool. For me, this is a great tool. Although it lacks controls such as changing the aperture or shutter speed manually, you can still get great result if you know how this camera react to different situation such as lighting in a particularly enviromental. It is more than pressing the shutter release to take a picture; Photograhy is all about lighting. A camera that can take Hd video is great. Still the same point, it can record clear sharp video in a controlled eniroment. Don't expect to take great video in a sunny day where the harsh light shining everywhere.

I got a 8gb class 4 sd card for that works fawlessly and a great deal. I can record about 10min of HD video because max. file side per-file is 2 gb, so a 8gb card can record 40 mins of HD video. And 8gb can take 1600+ highest 14 mp photos. I use photoshop and premiere pro to edit my photo and video.

Right camera at the right price
I have always been a Canon fan when it comes to digital photography, having owned two digicams and one Canon camcorder. I still think Canons are great, but when it came to buying an everyday point-and-shoot I took another look. I wanted to get the most camera I could, including memory, for 0. I was looking for 12+ megapixels, more than 4x optical zoom, HD video, and a quality lens.

The Panasonic was the only product that came in well under 0. It handles well, shoots quickly, and is so easy to use my 9-year old son had it figured out in about an hour.

One thing that amazed me about the optics is the macro capability. My son took a photo of a Lego Clone Trooper with the lens less than one inch from the subject, and it came out perfectly in focus. So add macro along with the zoom and wide angle capabilities of this excellent product. I could not be more satisfied with it!

Great little camera!
I bought this camera as I wanted a small, easy to use digital camera to carry in my purse. This camera is a perfect size - small, but does not feel cheap. The first time I used it was at my daughter's candlelit wedding. Considering the lack of natural lighting, it did a very good job. I have been able to see pictures taken by other cameras at the same event, and mine did just as well or better. It is simple to use and I look forward to using it as my travel camera. A lot of camera for the price.

Excellent FULL HD Camcorder
Excellent HD Camorder for the Price..Just got mines for my boys football games and am happy with the overall video and functions. I don't know how negative some reviews are. If you need a hd camcorder and don't wanna spend too much than this is the one for you.

Pro - Everything Panasonic HDCTM15 offers(high definition, 1080p) accept 1.
Cons - Need an extra battery for back-up.

Don't buy Panasonic - worst customer service EVER!
Got this for my son for his birthday. A few months later, he slid it off a bedside table (24") onto a carpeted (and padded) floor. Granted, this is not ideal, but I have put many electronics through worse abuse without ill effect. In this case, the camcorder quit working, and the service debacle began. Trust me - this is the condensed version of the worst customer service experience I've ever had.

My son contacted Panasonic customer service via email, told them exactly what happened and was told to ship it to the exchange center, where it would be exchanged for a re-manufactured camera. A few days after the exchange center received the camera, they sent us a letter stating that I needed to give them for a diagnostic fee, and that the warranty covered parts but not labor. Over the next couple of weeks, I tried calling the exchange center probably 50 times; either the phone just rang endlessly, or it said to leave a message (which was never returned). When I eventually got through, I asked why the camera was not being exchanged as I'd been promised and was told that they would not do an exchange for that model (even though they knew the model, from the original email contact). I was told, once again, that parts would be covered under warranty, but that I had to pay for diagnostics. I gave a credit card number and was told I'd be contacted in 1-2 days with a repair estimate. When I'd not been contacted after 3 days, I tried calling them back and, after 13 attempts, was able to talk with someone. Unfortunately, this person had no idea what the status of the repair was, and said she couldn't get in her computer and that the people in the repair department would not answer the phone (big surprise). She promised to call me back in a few minutes. You guessed it - no return call. The following day, on my 8th attempt, I was able to get through and was eventually told that the repair would cost 1 (I paid 9 for the camera!) and that neither parts nor labor would be covered under warranty because it had been dropped. I reminded her that I had two written correspondences from Panasonic stating that parts would be covered, at which point she began the blame game - "I didn't tell you that", or "they told you that, not me".

Anyway, my son is out a camcorder, I'm out and a few weeks of frustration. I will never buy another Panasonic product.

Okay HD motion video - you could probably buy better though
Bought this to use as a higher quality option to my HD Flip video for a canoe trip to the Canadian boundary waters.

Not a bad camera, once I figured out how to use Pinnacle Studio 14

Battery life is okay - lasted 5 days with light use, about 1 hour of video.

Images blur when panning. Be careful with your video editing software - it will render it with interlacing lines which can look horrible if you are not careful.

Very Impressed!
We bought this camera for a trip to Japan this summer.
The major selling points were the low price and the optical image stabilization (OIS). We have had several different models low price HD cameras (A**tek and Fl*p), and the lack of image stabilization was just unacceptable, and made much worse because of the high definition. I tried correcting for it using the best video editing software I could find, but it was frustrating and ultimately unacceptable.
The Panasonic HDCTM15 is amazing!
-It is small, fits in my pants pocket. Almost too small for my very large hand, but useable.
-The shape fits in the hand much better than the flat vertical models and is easier to use.
-Video quality is excellent. OIS works extremely well: While traveling through Japan on the Shinkansen at about 300MPH, I spotted a "daimonji", a very large symbol cut into the side of a mountain. I zoomed to maximum to get a good shot. Because of this maximum zoom and the fact we were moving, I really expected it to be rather shaky. To my surprise, I turned out very well.
-Battery life was just OK. We bought an extra battery, and were very glad we did.
For the price, this is an amazing camera. I would say it is easily worth twice what we paid for it. Highly recommended!

grat camcorder
I wanted our first camcorder and the low priced 1080i model here seemed like it would fill the bill.
features, ease of use, picture quality all exceeded expectations.
have had no problems.

Bad software
I have rated the DXG A80V HD low because of the software provided with the camera.

The camera produces HD video...very clear and good sound. Overall the camera would rate a "5." There are two inconveniences that if I were "King" I would change. There is no way to pause the process of filming. Once the camera is stopped and you wish to continue, a new "video clip" is created. I was told by DXG that this is a function of the memory stick technology. The other inconvenience is that the "zoom" is too fast. I was unable to slowly zoom in and out.

The major problem is with Arc TotalMedia Studio software. The software uses the "edited" clips to produce an index...which can be recorded on a disc. However, while the camera records in HD, the software is not capable of producing a HD video...even though one can select "HD" as a recording option. (I presume one could record in Blu-ray...but a Blu-ray burner is too expensive for me.)

I have spent many hours creating a video of my train layout...as a gift to my grandchildren. I bought two HD DVD-R 15GB single layer disks...recordable speed 1x. I have been unable to record my video using my PC or Laptop. When the disk is in the drive, the message that I get is no media in the disk drive. I tried using DVD+DL and I get the message...insert HD disk. Help!!

I was unable to open a "project" in the ArcSoft TotalMedia ShowBiz. "Projects" created in Studio do not show-up as files.

Further the video editor in Studio, "Create high definition movie disc" is disappointing. At times, when editing the sound and video get out of synch. There is no way to rearrange the order of video clips. The software inserts a new clip into an existing "project"at a location it determines...not the location of your choice. Editing is approximate...not precise. There is no capacity to add sound in the Studio, etc.

The software is useless for creating a HD movie...and that is one of the features of the camera. The functionality of the software is sub par. I tried the upgrade versions of the software with no better results. In fact the upgraded versions will not recognize a "project" produced in Studio.

DXG is a good product...it needs better software to go along with it. DXG USA DXG-A80V HD DXG Pro Gear 1080p High-Definition Camcorder

Good picture for the money.
This is a good camera for taking video and an alright camera for photos. I do like the ability to take snapshots while using the video. Sound recording is not that good unless you are up close or iside. There are features advertized that the instructions don't cover at all. No response from DXG about the camera or even if they are still in business. The price was good and I like having a 10 megapixel chip.

Can't be happier for a 0 video camera
I'm not so sure what sort of problems the other reviewers are having but the video quality on my camera is gorgeous at 1080p HD resolution when displayed through my computer to my 47" 1080p TV or connected directly to it through the HDMI cable. Like most 1080p cameras below a couple of grand, it needs a tripod when filming but does well when filming in lower resolutions. The colors are spot on to my untrained eye in good light, indoors with fluorescent lighting casts a little yellow even with the white balance set for it but that is nothing an editing program can't fix easily enough and it certainly isn't bad. The camera is small and lightweight, easy to operate with the controls in logical positions. The touchscreen viewfinder is handy and helps to deal with the gazillion features this camera has. Is the camera comparable to other sub 0 cameras, definitely. Feature wise it blows most of them away which is why I bought it. Is it comparable to 00 cameras? Not so much but it isn't terrible either. Then again, if I drop it or an alligator eats it, I haven't lost a 00 camera.

Easy to use
This camcorder is great, the size not to big. The only flaw I have with this is that it doesn't show HD Quality. But overall it is a great camcorder for its price.

Terrible video
The only reason I gave this two stars is because it functions as promised, well except for the video quality which is terrible. My 8 year old Sony camcorder produces better video than this. Don't fall for the price in this case, you'll only be returning the camera especially if you're expecting good quality HD video.

Great product for the money
I purchased this item (used) off of Amazon about 6 months ago. I am completely satisfied for the money that I spent. Its an nice little digital recorder for someone who doesn't have a lot of money to spend. The video quality in natural lighting is amazing. Its very easy to use and I was suprised how long the batteries last. The downfall is it is very basic (but thats what you're paying for). My only complaint is the sound recording. If the person holding the camera is talking then you can't hear anything else. Overall I am happy with this product to capture some special memories...however, will probably purchase something higher quality in the future.

A lot of good reasons to choose the Kodak over the competition. Price, build quality is very high, expandable memory, excellent video quality and though not made in America, Kodak is still an American company that employs thousands of American people. Very simple, pleasant experience
I had almost made up my mind to get a FlipMino HD and at the last second, I saw this comparison. After seeing some videos and pictures shot with both, I concluded that the Kodak Zi6 had better lighting, white balance, picture quality and sound quality. I was surprised to find it was also much cheaper than the 0+ model FlipMino HD I was considering. Also, the FlipMino HD only took moving videos, not stills. This camcorder takes still photos as well as three different versions of video, and it comes with a focus switch to get high quality "super close-ups" too.

After it arrived, I put the batteries in and turned it on. Turning it on gave me only a slight pause. I was expecting it to be a toggle for on or off, but you actually slide the button over and hold it for a few seconds to turn it on, and do the same to turn it off. From there, the entire interface is easy to figure out without needing any kind of manual. It's very intuitive.

I love how compact it is. It makes it very portable. At the same time, the buttons don't suffer the micro-mania that has been sweeping technology over the last few years. The buttons are still very easy to push and finagle as you need to despite the camcorder's small size. Picture and sound quality are awesome, and simple push of a button on the front opens up a USB stick to port photos and videos right over to your computer within just seconds. When you're done, you just flip it back down and it resumes its streamline design. It's brilliant!

Things to consider:
- The power button is not a toggle.
- The batteries that came with the camcorder are rechargeable and do come with a recharger, but mine only came charged about 10% so they did not last very long initially.
- You will need more memory if you plan on taking much video. It comes with only 128 megabytes, but can extend up to 32 gigabytes. I found 8 gigabytes was more than enough for my own needs.
- The USB stick goes directly from the camera to the computer, meaning there is no cable in between the two, which can be tricky for certain computers. Make sure it's supported properly and not just hanging from the computer via the USB stick or it could loosen the either of the USB jacks.
- It includes cables to connect directly to your TV so you can watch your videos straight from the camcorder on your television.
- One mode of video is VGA (or "web-ready") which means you don't have to spend time compressing it to share on the web; it's already ready.
- It includes video editing software.

Overall, I am very, very pleased with this camcorder, especially at this price!

Jittery audio and choppy video
Some of the videos I recorded had very bad jittery audio. It didn't matter whether there was ambient noise or not. I returned this unit and Amazon lived up to its name once again by doing a full refund.

Good:
Photo mode - not the best, but is there! Pictures look like a paused video.

Bad:
Jittery audio - made it useless for me - my kids' voices came out broken
Poor video refresh - yes 720p looks great, but the zi6 videos look very choppy. I guess the technical term is frame rate(?) Underwhelming when you shoot while moving - e.g. walking, panning, following my kids.
Flimsy - body is very flimsy. I'm 100% sure it can't take even one drop to the floor. With kids it is inevitable.

Overall, a great alternative to the Flip series, but the audio issue killed my enthusiasm. Wanted to get the zi8 after returning this, but decided against it after reading 'high pitched audio' issue with it. Seems like Kodak couldn't figure out audio yet!

No continous playback on TV
I purchased a refurbished Zi6 from New Harbor. I have been using camcorders since my daughter was born many many years ago, and this is my first HD unit. I just want to find out what HD is all about before I throw away money at more expansive unit.

I only have a XT to view the videos. It's choppy (to be expected due to slower PC) but the videos were good with adequate lighting. It's acceptable in flourescent lighting and a half dim living room. It's very bad in dawn just before the sunrise while driving.

The key to using Zi6 is to remind myself that "It is a camera" and without optical stabilization or SuperSteady Shot - minimize jumping or walking around while recording, holding and Locking my arms close to body while taking the videos, taking video in a rock solid position while at night or dawn. And I will not be disappointed.

The battery life is an hour or more with a set of brand new Sony 2500 mAh NiMH. The recording time is excellent as compare to half hour(ish) with W290 and ZS3. It's pointless to complaint about the included freebie as no camera manufacturers will give you an adequate one for free.

The only issue that I have with Zi6 is the lack of continuous playback on my analog TV. I need to play each videos manually. It's very tiring after a while. If I know about it sooner, I would not buy it.
